Where to start? I hear this a lot. It’s hard to know where to start, whether it’s with telling your story, starting a career path, or just rambling on a Friday. So I sit here on the edge of something. I’m working on starting a consistent blog of conversations related to counseling and my experience with it. Where in the world do you start such a general project? Exactly. That’s why I sit here, stuck. I guess I’m looking for the perfect place to kick off this “path”.
And there it is… two struggles that I hear about quite a bit. Where to start and then consistency. Until I get into a routine, I can be very inconsistent. I know that about myself, just like I know distraction comes easily. I also know that I have a million different ideas, but figuring out where to start and actually turning the wheels in a forward direction are my nemesis.
I guess that’s where I will start. It makes sense to me when people (young and old) struggle to get moving in a new direction. There are always countless places to start. But once you figure out a starting point, history says you may not be able to stay consistent with the changes. OK. I get it. But maybe, just maybe you don’t have to figure it all out right now. Maybe you just need to do Something and see what happens. I just wrote 250 words without knowing where I was going. I just started Something. Success.
